Kim’s
work is essentially about the natural environment but
her interpretation is emotional rather than pictorial
and her interest lies in studying and recording small
corners of the landscape where colours, shadows and light
are constantly shifting. She considers drawing to be an
essential part of the process and charcoal is her favoured
medium. In many of her paintings drawn lines disappear
and reappear hinting at the underlying structure of the
composition.
